Have you had a chance to check out the progress lately on the North Commuter Bridge? You get a great view of the construction on the Meewasin Trail located just east of the cul-de-sac at the north end of Kinear Ave (north of Silverwood Golf Course).
The North Commuter Parkway is part of the bridging tomorrow initiative. The Parkway project will link the Marquis Industrial area with the University Heights area. Marquis Drive will be extended across the South Saskatchewan river connecting to McOrmond Drive at Fedoruk Drive. The new bridge will be 270 meters long and 6 lanes. Pedestrian and Cyclist facilities will be constructed as well.
When this new bridge is completed it will be given a name reflecting Aboriginal people’s history.
